Fields opening and closing status will be on RainoutLine.
1. Park Fields -Fairfax County can open/close any of the Park Fields at their discretion. If they close it, we cannot play on them. If they are open, we might close a grass field if conditions are poor. Park fields status is only posted Mon-Fri between 3-330p at: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/athletic-field-status
2. FCPS School Fields – It is BRYC’s decision to open and close for weather. However, we can have unexpected closures for school events.
3. Grass Fields – Will close for wet weather or muddy conditions. BRYC makes a decision to open or close fields by 3:30p on weekdays and 7am on weekends. If conditions change, we might close earlier. We tend to err on the side of caution with our game fields.
4. Turf Fields – Only Closed by the county or schools for severe weather conditions or any snow/ice on turf. Otherwise they tend to stay open. Occasionally they are closed due to light malfunctions or construction. Thunder and lightning policy listed below is always in effect.
· Green Circle – All fields open
· Yellow Triangle – Some fields closed
· Red Octagon – All fields closed
· “I” in a Blue Circle – Informational message about fields, but all fields open.
IN CASE OF THUNDER OR LIGHTNING IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA, PLAY WILL BE SUSPENDED IMMEDIATELY!! Everyone (no exceptions) must immediately leave the field, seek shelter in their vehicles, and wait 30 minutes. The 30-minute waiting period starts again if additional thunder/lightning is observed. If inclement weather persists, your trainers will terminate the session.
